Longleaf Lumber, New Building, Berwick, Maine

The planets have finally aligned and our new Berwick warehouse will be in action shortly. Because winter is quickly approaching, we are working hard to get the warehouse and office building finished. The floor has just been poured, the doors and windows are in, and the frame is buttoned up.

Installing Radiant HeatingWhat does this mean for our Cambridge customers? We will now be able to free up our Cambridge retail warehouse for the easier display of more retail-ready reclaimed wood materials. Our pre-milled mantels, shelves, large boards, and tables will have plenty of breathing room.

And at our Berwick mill, when the new building is ready, we will be able to store more dry lumber and finished materials, which will reduce kiln delays and long lead times, resulting in a faster turnaround for our customers. Prior to the construction of our new building, we had only two buildings at the Berwick mill, one of which was inconveniently filled to the brim with dried stock and finished orders.

Our new building will allow us to more easily organize and transport reclaimed lumber, provide an indoor area to de-nail our reclaimed lumber, and free up space in other buildings for increased production. New office space will give our production management team more elbow room.

Next, we’ll finish the interior of the building and install our solar panels. We can’t wait to move in. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and this blog for updates and more news.
