Reclaimed White Oak Stair Treads

Not sure how it’s possible that 3″ thick white oak treads set into a massive steel frame can look so light and elegant, but that’s what great craftsmanship can do. At almost 18′ from floor to floor, the run on this stair was nicely stretched with a short rise on the steps. When you add in the perforated steel risers and glass panels, these substantial treads just seem to float in the air.
 
Hats off to Custom Iron Craft who built this incredible staircase for a the MAK & Co. furniture store in Andover, Mass. It’s a stunner from all angles.
